点评：This museum originally contains parts of 5 different Viking ships (built for different types of purposes, mainly military or trade, found shipwrecked in the Roskilde Fjord) but extends much beyond that and is, on the end, one of the best windows to the world of the Vikings and their Viking Age anywhere. In Summer, even boat tours around the fjord in rebuilt Viking ships are organized and Museum Island with live handcrafting is open. In Winter, only Viking Ship Hall is open but there you can find the explanatory video in the cinema, remains of Viking ships, two specially built ships to stand in them, a very good Viking exhibition and even Hamlet's Viking Room as a playroom for kids.
With a train, Roskilde Train Station is only 25 minutes of drive from the Copenhagen Central Station and the Viking Ship Museum with around 20 minutes of walk after that so it is easily accessible even without own transport. Around the museum, it is Roskilde Havn (port) with restaurants and nice views on the Roskilde Fjord, so it is an excellent trip overall.
