Great modern and responsible Zoo

点评：For everyone complaining about visibility of animals: this is an intrinsic trait of a modern zoo, trying to mimic natural environments. Most animals (there's always exceptions) don't like it to lie close to the glass panels with loud loud peoplw behind it!
This is one of very few zoos that has several separated large enclosurea for big cats. Most of them being solitary for most of the year, this allows for natural behaviour. By the way, natural bahaviour for cata ia to sleep up to 20 houra per 24 hrs. Just look at the enclosure and think where you would lie down in the shade relatively out of sight. Significant chance you will find the cat there!
Smartly, this Zoo has chosen animals that cam endure cold, or are small enough to be kept inside under good conditions. That means you will not find giraffe, zebra, or elephant, but rather Takin, onager, musk oxen and reindeer. Most enclosures are pretty and certainly large, fulfilling animal requirements. Plenty of educational panels about the animals but also nature in general.
As the park is on an island, there is plenty of nature around outside the enclosures and one can sit down at the rocky beach with a view on Helsinki.
The only "negative" comment: the glass viewing panels reflect strongly, especially in summer. Making a simple roof above the viewing points would easily fix that and probably save a lot of stains and smears on the glass panels from people trying to create a view with their hands.
