Cochin Magic Day Tours的点评
点评：This tour company was fantastic! I found them on a blog and they worked with me for weeks to plan the perfect customized private trip. I'm not sure why I waited so long to write this review as I have forgotten some names and details, but I will do my best to describe the experience.
I was traveling to India from the United States with my graduate program and decided to plan a side trip for me and 7 of my classmates. Each person had a different attraction they wished to see and Magic Tours accommodated our very long list of "wants". Somehow, they fit everything in. After a lot of back and forth between me and Ranjeet via email, we were off to India.
I received information with our itinerary of Ranjeet's WhatsApp number in case of any issues. This made me feel very comfortable, and I would use it to book an unexpected 6 hour taxi back to the airport. I knew I could trust Magic Tours to arrange a good experience for me when I was traveling alone later in the trip. (We had one classmate who took a taxi arranged by the hotel and she was robbed. I never had to worry about this with Ranjeet's staff.)
Our first driver was Manaf. We LOVED Pramod. He spoke perfect English and he put up with all our shenanigans and all our luggage. (We were 7 women and 1 man who all overpacked.)
Each day's tour guide was very knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful. We always felt like we had the best of the best.
Our hotels were clean and well-appointed. The restaurants recommended by our guides were fabulous. We had a very authentic Indian experience.
I had asked Ranjeet what to tip in India, and while he gave me recommendations, I fear I misunderstood. It never seemed like enough. If I had to do it again, I would recommend 500 Rupees per person per day for the tour guides ($6 USD), and perhaps the same for the driver, depending on the duration of the drive and the number of bags.
If you have a chance to go to Munnar and stay at the Spice Tree, you will not be disappointed. Take the tea plantation guided hike, but be prepared for hills!
In Cochin, have a meal with a local family!
If you have a chance to go to Kanyakumari, check out the sunset and sunrise. Wear sturdy shoes and get up early!
In Trivandrum, stay at the Travancore Heritage. Expect to be harassed at the beach by people trying to sell you things, but the hotel itself is magnificent. Visit the shops across the street from the hotel for the best quality scarves and pashmina cashmere!
Though I was sleepy by 7 PM every night of the trip, I had a blast and would definitely use this company again. It was super affordable and wonderful!

Day 04, 20th November 2022, Sunday: Morning Fort Kochi and Mattancherry by Rickshaw followed by home cooking and later transfer to Nelliakkattumana, Kizhakombu, PO, Koothattukulam, Kerala 686662, India

• Afternoon sightseeing
• Sunset & Sunrise at Kanyakumari

• Excursion to Trivandrum: Padmanabhaaswamy Temple, Local market
Pros: quick email responses, affordable, clean, safe, friendly, knowledgeable, kind
Cons: cumbersome payment options, attraction fees weren't included, amount to tip wasn't clear
