An amazing place, disappointing experience

点评：When we decided to go to Lisbon, my husband was excited about visiting here as he’s a huge Celtic fan. All the online reviews suggested that we could just turn up and politely ask the security guard if we could have a look round (I did investigate paying to get in, but this didn’t seem to be an option). Well, the guy on the gate when we went wouldn't allow us in at all, even up to the pitch to take photos. We didn’t know if there was a pre-organised event taking place meaning we couldn’t visit that particular day (which we would’ve understood, of course), but if so then no reasons were given. We tried saying we’d gone there especially, but to no avail. A friendly man who was queuing for what looked like an event took some photos for us - if he’d been waiting for a paid tour, no doubt he would’ve explained this. The security guard certainly didn’t tell us if that was what we had to do to get in!
You should definitely go as from reading other people’s reviews here, it’s a fantastic visit. But do your due diligence beforehand and make sure you can get in. I don’t know if there’s an option to pay to get in; if there is, we didn’t find it.
