点评:Ok...let me start with the positives...
Dymchurch beach is nearly all golden sand, even at low tide. It has a dog-friendly area (to the West of the second Martello tower, about a five minute walk from where the Tesco Express is located).
The public toilets (at the East end of the main village) are free and clean.
The beach is well-supported by shops supplying beach toys, ice cream, fish and chips, etc. and there is a nice, if expensive, pub opposite Tesco.
Now for the negatives...
The whole beach is concreted in by an ENORMOUS sea wall, so forget any ideas of sand dunes or a natural environment.
Similarly, the view of Dungeness nuclear power station isn't exactly palm trees.
Worst of all is the shameful admission from the local council advising you, (in PERMANENT metal signs on the prom), NOT TO SWIM IN THE SEA AS THE WATER IS TOO DIRTY!!!
(A suspiciously brown sludge can be seen on the beach at low tide).
So, all in all, not a terrible place, but I don't think I would be happy to let kids play on the beach.
Come on Folkestone District Council...clean up your act!
