My expectations were probably bigger than the reality I got.

点评：We visited the Park. I was really looking forward to this program because they promised we could pet crocodiles, which actually happened. First of all, I’ll say I felt good at the place and I got to pet the crocodile. However, the overall surroundings of the park are quite modest. There is a really nice museum at the start, worth seeing. It’s not like a national museum, but we get a little taste of Gambia’s history and local customs. Then they show us a very beautiful elephant tree, and then comes the attraction: crocodile petting. This means a few crocodiles lie in front of the pond, and you can go up to them, but basically, you can only pet the tail. Sure, it’s a dangerous operation, I didn’t expect to throw a ball, but I did expect that maybe we could pet the head or the back. Not just the tail for a moment and then take a few pictures. Then they show the pond, and afterward, on the way out, there is a small gift shop. Basically, we bought a ticket because you can’t enter the park without one, but at the end, they strongly expected us to write where we came from and how much support we give. There were two of us, as friends, we gave ten dollars each. Obviously, we support any country we visit, not just in Gambia, we always support the local economy and things, but this was a bit too strongly expected. Especially since on site, they could have done some cleaning up, they could have mowed the grass, tidied up the trees a bit, and collected the old dried leaves. Don’t expect anything big in this park, it’s worth seeing, but a simple crocodile visit. Again, worth seeing, you can pet the crocodiles for a moment, I didn’t feel any danger, but my expectations were probably bigger than the reality I got.
