This area is one of the few places left, where residents and visitors alike can enjoy the nature’s offerings, walk or ride a bike. You are also able to exercise you dogs in this area.
There is a reasonable size car park at the main entrance as well as a children's play area and a cafe. There are a few other smaller car parks on either side of the main entrance. Parking is free at present but there will be a £2.50 parking charge from 2nd September 2024.
The walkway stretches for a few miles in both directions and is suitable for wheelchair and mobility vehicles by and large. The route is lined with wild bushes but also intermittent blackberry bushes, apple, pear and damson trees.
This oasis provides a sanctuary for the wildlife but also for locals to exercise and de stress alone or with their families. It is hoped that the new charges do not prove to be too costly and prohibitive.
