点评:My Italian friends had brought me to their home in Buonconvento for Easter. The next day they took me to tour Abbazia di Monte Oliveto Maggiore. Agnese is a professional tour guide so I was getting the best tour possible. At each Fresco she pointed out that there were two different famous artists representing different periods of time and pointed out the fine details which separated the two during the different time lines depicted. Many tourists just walk through seeing only a fresco which I may have been one without this expert guide. I came away with a totally different view and understanding of Benedict and the religious order he founded. During that tour Michele saw the notice on his phone that Pope Frances had died. We entered the chapel and lit a candle for Pope Frances. This monastery is spectacular with the history, the architecture, the historic archives of materials and views that thousands of tourists have seen and reviewed but I believe this once in a lifetime experience at this pivotal time in history will stay with me forever. My thanks to Michele and Agnese for this opportunity and memory/
