Centovalli Express – A Scenic Gem,buy your coffee and snack before you board

点评：We took the Centovalli Express as a day trip from Domodossola to Locarno and back, and overall it’s a genuinely unique and memorable journey that I’d recommend to anyone visiting the Lake Maggiore region.
Tickets & Classes
We paid €64 for a 1st class reserved seat outbound and €53 for 2nd class on the return. The outward journey featured a newer carriage set which was comfortable and well-appointed. The return was on older rolling stock, but perfectly fine. Honestly, 2nd class does the job.
Finding the Platform
Don’t be put off by Domodossola station; the underground platform for the Centovalli is easy to find. Access it from Platform 3, or via the side entrance near the Station Tabacchi on Platform 1.
The Scenery
This is the whole reason you’re here, and it delivers. The route winds through valleys, over viaducts and past cascading streams — genuinely spectacular, especially on a clear morning.
Coffee Cart Warning
Learn from my mistake. There’s a roaming coffee cart on board and I assumed, reasonably enough, that a hot drink was included with a 1st class fare. It is not. A very small plastic cup of pump-urn coffee and a couple of torta will set you back €10. Skip it and grab a coffee before you board.
Locarno Day Trip
Setting off early made for a full and wonderful day. After arriving in Locarno, the Cimetta ascent via funicular, cable car and chairlift is right near the station exit and well worth it. The funicular alone is a short hop for two around CHF 16 return. The full cable car and chairlift return including lunch (note: very restricted menu) came to CHF 96 for two . Pricey but a spectacular addition to the day.
Bottom line: A special trip that punches above its weight as a travel experience. Just bring your own coffee.

早早出发，让这一天充实而美好。抵达洛迦诺后，乘坐缆车、索道和吊椅前往奇梅塔山的路线就在车站出口附近，非常值得一去。单程缆车往返两人大约16瑞士法郎。包含午餐（注意：菜单选择非常有限）的缆车和吊椅往返票两人96瑞士法郎。价格不菲，但绝对值得。
总而言之：这是一次物超所值的旅行体验。记得自带咖啡哦。
