点评：The Vasco da Gama Pillar is worth visiting if you're already in Malindi, especially if you have an interest in history. The monument itself is smaller than many people expect, so don't plan on spending hours there most visitors will be done in about 20 to 40 minutes.
What makes it memorable isn't its size but its historical significance and the beautiful views of the Indian Ocean. The peaceful atmosphere and sea breeze make it a nice place to slow down, take a few photos, and reflect on Malindi's role in early maritime exploration.
The entrance fee is reasonable for Kenyan citizens and residents (KSh 100 for adults and KSh 50 for children), though some international visitors may feel the non-resident fee of KSh 500 is a bit steep for a relatively short visit.
The site is usually quiet, which makes it easy to explore without crowds, and the staff are friendly and happy to answer questions. If you can, ask for a guide the historical context adds much more to the experience. While a few parts of the site could be better maintained and the information displays expanded, it's still a worthwhile stop, particularly when combined with nearby attractions like the Malindi Museum, Gede Ruins and portugese chapel
