点评:We stayed three wonderful nights at Fugitive Drift Lodge. We were made to feel so welcome and we loved our room spacious and African, our first walk and talk about the 1879 English and Zulu wars was taken by the delightful Tom, who told the story of the two brave English soldiers who survived the first battle only to be killed as they lay wounded. The story was told with such clarity and enthusiasm, we were completely absorbed. We also saw their very well looked after graves. This was followed by a delicious communal dinner looked after by Grace, who so lives up to her beautiful name by the way she looks after each and every guest. Next morning we drove to the battlefield of Isandahwana with our amusing and informative guide (forgive me I have not written down his Zulu name). Being taken down to the cairns where so many young men are buried is very moving. So lucky to have these battles told with such enthusiasm. In the afternoon tried one of the walks around the estate (the blue one)…only Micko knows how well we did! Next day Bryan took us to Rorkes Drift pointing out exactly how the battle unfolded. Riveting. In the afternoon we did the yellow walk up to edge of the gorge. Hot walk but fantastic views. To everyone who made our stay so memorable Thank You
