点评：My family and I booked Juneau Tours' Whale Watch & Mendenhall Glacier Combo Tour. We were picked up at our meeting place near the docks in Juneau at 10:30 am. There were enough people to fill 2 buses. They took us out to Auke Bay where we were divided into groups. Our group was small and we were put on a small boat (24 people). Others were put on larger boats which probably held 50+. Our captain was Jayden and our Environmentalist was Nate. Both were friendly and gave us lots of information about whales and their environment.
The bay was rough. If anyone is prone to seasickness, this is where it will hit. Lucky for us, this didn't bother us. Unfortunately, we only saw a couple of whales at a distance. When we did spot a whale, we were to get up on the deck for a clear view. The boat was so small, only about 3 people got near the rail. The rest of us stood behind them looking at their backs. (This boat was way too small for 24 people to get a view.) We did not see any other wildlife except an eagle. We did get to see the back of Mendenhall Glacier from the bay.
When we arrived back on land we were picked up by another bus and taken to Mendenhall Glacier. We had a beautiful, sunny day to see the Glacier and the waterfall. There was time to either hike out to the waterfall, visit the visitor's center, or walk around the grounds and down to the beach. You didn't have time for all of it. The bus picked us up at the scheduled time and took us back to downtown Juneau.
If I were to book again, I would want a guarantee that we got a bigger boat where we could actually see the water and not the backs of the people standing in front of us. Other than that, the staff and crew were professional and knowledgeable.
