Visit of Chateau de Chambord
香波尔城堡的点评
点评：I visited Chateau de Chambord on October 18, 2025. It was probably the biggest and one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited. It has an insanely rich history and gorgeous architecture. My family and I got to learn some history about the daily life of the aristocracy of France and some history about the situation during WW2. The construction work looks like it took multiple centuries to build, and while being built as a cross, the towers and chapels of the chateau don’t seem to be following a particular pattern and still look so unique.
While the whole structure of the castle is so extraordinary and original, the colors are neutral - just beige with blueish-grey - creating a feeling of balance in the visual art of the building. During the time of my visit I also got to see some of the rooms where people lived their everyday lives. Seeing the furniture and realizing that that’s where the royalty of France slept or sat on always brings me a feeling of excitement. I noticed that the beds that grown people in the 17-18 centuries slept on are significantly smaller than our beds are, meaning that the average human height then was much less than it is now. By the end of the visit, me and my family rented a golf cart to ride around the garden and see the giant landscapes we were told there are. And turns out they are actually really huge, with the lawns and trees being cut in perfect shapes and a big moat going through the whole territory. We got to drive two big laps around the whole area. After leaving, me and my family were very exhausted from all the walking around, but also we had a good impression of the day and the beauty we got to witness.
