点评：What a hidden gem of a place. I was looking for somewhere I could go, with my dog, on a very hot day to launch my own paddleboard.
Having never been before I spoke with the lady at the canoe hut and she was exceptionally helpful, giving me advice on which way along the river to go and what to expect to see and how long it would take me on average. This place allows you to launch from their dock for free if you have your own board and paddle up the river for as long as you like, no permit required.
The place was very easy to find on the sat nav, the parking was plentiful and only around £3 for a full day of parking.
I was able to get my board inflated and on the water within 20 mins of being there. The dog and I spent 3 hours on the river enjoying the beautiful scenery and peace and quiet.
On our return it was easy to get back on the land from the doc. I was even able to have a little swim with the dog in the river before we made our way back to the car.
There was a food stand and picnic area that we were able to enjoy some food and drinks before we left.
I will absolutely be back to this spot in future. A perfect day out.
