The Grand Canyon of Kauai is a scenic spectacular of Hawaii and well worth the visit

点评：If visiting Kauai this geological spectacular is a must see. As we first drove up the route we were not overly impressed….. keep driving as the scenery changes as the depths of the canyon open up! There are several spots to pull over and admire the splendour ** DONT PAY ** to use the parks vantage points (US$40 per car and couple) as further along the road you will see the same sight for free!!
The best time of the day is the afternoon as the sun shines on the opposite cliffs lighting them up. There are also good views of Jurassic waterfalls on the way.
Big Al’s top tips: this is a good afternoon’s trip after you have visited Spouting Horn. Don’t pay for the Parks vantage points as you will see much the same from the road. Dont pay for tours as you can do this with your hire car and the roads are good! Follow me for travel tips around the world
