点评:We were staying in Princeville for a week, and we knew that we wanted to check out Waimea Canyon. It was about an hour and a half away from our rental. As we drove from the north part of the island down along the eastern coast and then along the south toward the Canyon, we passed through the quaint towns of Hanapepe and Waimea, and then arrived at the entrance to the park. As you drive up toward the main lookout areas, the winding road has multiple turnouts to catch some very cool views. The first main lookout area also has trails that lead up toward the summit. You are required to pay--by kiosk--$10 a car and $5 a person, and there were two attendants nearby to instruct you. There is a beautiful lookout area a short walk from the parking lot. After that, further on, is another lookout area that gives you another spectacular view of the Na Pali Coast and the ocean. There are bathrooms in both lookout areas, adequate but I wouldn't say wonderfu, as some reviewers have described. We are seniors, and it was too hot and humid for us to attempt any serious hiking, but we think the Waimea Canyon State Park is worth a visit.
