Dreadful weather and sea to swim with turtles

点评：It was one of my dreams to snorkle with turtles and Petite Terre seemed one of the likeliest places to do that. We contacted Tarzon who came highly recommended and he assured us that the best day to do that on that week was Dec 4, so we booked the speedboat trip. To summarize the trip to Petite Terre, imagine you're on a roller coaster for 45 min, receiving full buckets of water every 30 seconds, with high winds and occasional hailstones, that's how nice it was :-(. The 12 of us arrived on Petite Terre alive (because our Skipper Nathan was excellent!!!), but one had vomited all the way, my teeth were rattling from the cold, and most of us were in choc and needed rhum to relax (which fortunately was provided). After that and when the rain had stopped, we walked to he lighthouse and saw loads of iguanas and finally, it was time to snorkle. Unfortunately, the current was very strong in the lagoon so the water was often blurry, and there weren't any sharks around and not a lot of fish. But the turtles were there, and we could swim around many of them which was amazing. So even though this ended well, this trip is not for everybody! Useful tips: 1. the rockiest seas happen in the winter time because there are less clouds so it's more windy (thanks again Nathan for this info). 2. Don't blindly trust the TO's who are just trying to sell the trip.
