Educational and fun tour, worth your time.
ASARCO Mineral Discovery Center的点评
点评：I was in Sahuarita visiting my brother and saw this location on a website. He and I showed up just as a tour was starting and we listened to the end of the welcome talk and hopped on the comfortable bus (we hadn't made previous reservations, but you might want to).
What a great and oh so interesting tour of the copper mine, then into the building where they grind stones and extract the copper. We generally don't think about copper, but it's something that's super important in our everyday lives.
We learned about how it's extracted, and about the safety practices at the mine, and how they protect the local environment. There was plenty of time to take lots of pictures and our guide was excellent. He gave so much information and answered lots of questions.
Afterward, we spent time in the gift shop (reasonable prices for some souvenirs) and looked at displays and videos in the museum area.
I would say if you're in this area, don't miss this tour.
