点评：Our visit to SMV was a mixed bag. The wine was fantastic- lots of sweet options, great flavor profiles, we really enjoyed the tasting! Charlotte was phenomenal. She is full of energy, personable, made awesome recommendations for mixing the wine as well as food pairings.
However, we almost didn’t get to experience this. Upon walking in, we walked up to the bar to do a tasting, and one of the girls behind the bar was cleaning the space that the previous group used. We waited patiently, she walked away, was talking to a group sitting at the tables which seemed like her friends or “regulars” and eventually returns to us and apologizes that she didn’t realize we were waiting. Needless to say, our experience with her was sub par. She poured our tasting, told us a quick blurb about the wine and would walk away only to come back in a few minutes. She just wasn’t personable or invested in the sale. Luckily, Charlotte, who was helping a couple next to us was amazing and started talking with us too. She really saved the experience!
What I noticed was that all the girls behind the bar couldn’t have been much more than 22-23 years old and I hate to attribute the lack of engagement to that, but they were all so very young and I feel like that played a part in the customer service.
Overall, we loved the wine; but I might suggest that whoever owns the winery should make sure whoever is representing their business is fully invested, knowledgeable and engaging with the customers!
