点评：We went there after passing the place on our way to Sunset Bay RV Park. So, we went in and weren't disappointed. It was something else! Quirky, fun, interesting, lots to look at. Plan on spending some time there because an hour will not be enough. Kids will love looking through the rocks in the bins outside. I'm glad I didn't know about this place when I was a kid; my parents would have had to tie me up and lock me in the trunk of the car to get me out of there! I loved collecting rocks and minerals (and still do!) The young couple running the place were very friendly and personable.
Their copper collection display was very interesting, particularly the crystalline copper specimens.
One item of note: They have the excellent "Treasure Scoops" aka Gem Scoops - formerly manufactured by Estwing - an essential tool for searching for Yooperlites or agates. The Gem Scoop comes in two lengths (36" and 42"), so most people will find one that suits them. These are far more useful than a lot of the "scoops" offered around the UP because you can also use them as a walking stick to steady yourself on the rocky beaches or while wading in the water looking for Yooperlites or agates. I definitely recommend you get one of these. My success rate went up immediately after purchasing this. They also had other tools (UV Flashlights for Yooperlite prospecting, Geologist rock hammers, hand lenses, books, etc.)
If we ever get back up there, it will be a must-stop destination.
