点评：An amazing experience on our trip at the Forest of Dean. The price to enter was perfectly reasonable as you will discover after entering the caves. We spent plenty of time in the muesum at the start, reading about all the different old tools and experieces. We went at the first slot of the day so had the place practically to ourselves for our visit, depsite one other family. You get to go through at your own pace and there is plenty of old tools and information displays to view as you walk furhter into the caves.
The atmosphere is surreal, the cold temperature and the dark areas give a sense of calm/eeriness to the place. At one point there is a section that allows you to see shadows of miners working with audio playing. With the place being practically empty this was a very eery experience. We spent the better part of an hour down below, reaching 100ft below the surface. The end gift shop is lovely but quite pricey for certain items.
The cafe outside was our final stop, where you can play a game of chess and get a nice hot drink and cake for reasonable price. Overall it was a lovely experience and day out for us all.
