Excellent introduction into Kapadokya wines, their history and their culture
Salkim Sarap Evi (Wine tasting Tour)的点评
点评:We booked a tasting at this wine shop located in the historical centre of Avanos for 26 USD/person. It included 20 wines and was supposed to last about an hour. We ended up staying significantly longer, listening to the owners explanations. 20 wines may sound like a lot, but it’s very small sips and allows for discovering many indigenous grapes and specialty wines. We saw other guests ordering a 6 wines tasting for 300 TRY. Our tasting included many wines of the two large local wineries (Kocabag and Turasan), and a couple of other wines. We ended up buying three bottles, but did not feel any pressure or expectation to buy anything.
If you would like to taste local wines and to learn more about wine culture in Kapadokya and Turkey more generally, this is the place to go. Erdi is very knowledgeable and shares his passion about wines with his guests. According to my research, this is the only wine tasting experience in the region where one can quietly sit down, taste wines, ask questions, discover and learn (as opposed to stopovers in a winery as part of a tour, where there seems to be quite a rush with groups). I can warmly recommend this tasting at Erdi’s to anyone interested in wines.
