点评：We took the short trip, 14 km / 2 hours typically, because we felt our kids would not be entertained enough for 4 hours and the weather was shifty. However, the active people and experienced cyclists we are, we completed the 14 km in 1 hour already. It's not something I would pin on the organisation.. we probably should have gone slower.. but also, we did not feel like we gave it our all to speed ahead.
On the return, the track goes downhill so that even with a few kicks here and there, it pretty much runs on its own at 12 km an hour.
The route itself is beautiful, although you should expect reasonably high and dense hedges along the track. So although you are travelling through the Alsace country side and beautiful views can be seen intermittently, you can not see it all the time. Also, sometimes, the plants had grown over the track and needed to be avoided, even with thorny branches.
All in all, it is still an enjoyable experience due to its uniqueness.
The friendly owner speaks French and German and is definitely engaged and willing to help out. However, he is clearly on his own (Google reviews mentioned this as well) and, as such, has a lot on his hands.
Expect to have a delay on starting when you are among the last to go, so do not plan this in sequence with other events.
