哈迪蜡染德拿博物馆的点评
点评：We had the opportunity to try our hand at making a small 12” X 12” batik swatch before visiting this museum. We dripped hot wax around the margins of a design and then fill in the colors, followed by dyeing. The wax prevents the dye from penetrating those area resulting in the design pattern. Exceedingly difficult and time consuming process which allowed us to respect the artisans who made the batik fabrics on display in the museum. The museum carries batik from the 18th century to present day. Not a big museum, 11 rooms, inside a colonial building. An English speaking museum guide would accompanied you throughout and provide in depth explanation of each batik. There were some “No Photos” sign on certain batik. The museum’s interior lighting was rather muted perhaps to reduce damage to batik fabric. Tour lasted around an hour.
