点评：At the recommendation of a colleague of mine, we decided to do a long weekend at Tegwaan and are so glad we did. We were greeted with excitement by the owners' dogs who led us to the main house where the owners live. The owners, Renia and Balthazar, and their kids are great hosts. We stayed at the Pine Cabin which we loved as it was set apart from the other cabins in a little pine grove next to the stream. The cabin is rustic but super cozy with three bedrooms, a well stocked kitchen and a huge, comfy couch across from the fireplace. We’d build a fire every night and curl up together to read books or play games. Coming from Pretoria, we loved the peace and quiet and slept well in the cozy beds with electric mattress pads. I imagine it can be really cold in the cabin in the midst of winter. The kitchen has everything you need to cook for yourself which you should plan to do as there really aren't any restaurants worth visiting in Boven. We enjoyed the fresh eggs and the lemons that were left for us. There is no generator, no TV, no Wi-Fi, and very limited cell signal. We didn’t mind very much as there were games to play, a scavenger hunt for kids (with real treasure), an outdoor patio with a picnic table, hiking trails, a swimming pool, playground, etc. The dogs greeted us every morning and took walks with us. My son loved hanging out with the owners kids while I enjoyed a yoga session under the trees which Renia leads every Sunday at 9am. We spent a few hours doing the Stone Circle hike which is a great way to see the stone circles, the escarpment, a little waterfall, and the fascinating flora. Renia and Balthazar were great in providing recommendations on things to see and do including the monthly farmers market. They work hard to contribute to the town and make it a better place for everyone. Consider this for your next escape from the city. It will do you good.
