A Magnificent Heritage Site Sadly Lost to Neglect
Alwar City Palace Vinay Villas Palace的点评
点评：It is quite sad and disappointing to see the Alwar City Palace in such a dilapidated and poorly maintained condition. The palace has tremendous historical and architectural significance, but unfortunately, there is currently very little for tourists to explore.
The King's and Queen's palaces are adjoining, forming part of the larger City Palace complex. The complex also houses the Alwar Museum, although much of the ground and first floors are occupied by the city court. The remaining floors and sections of the palace are largely inaccessible to visitors and appear to be in considerable disrepair.
There is also a lake behind the palace, which could potentially have been a beautiful attraction and an integral part of the palace's heritage setting. Unfortunately, it is not accessible and does not appear to be properly maintained.
As a tourist attraction, the overall experience is therefore quite underwhelming. There is almost nothing currently available for visitors to explore, which is particularly unfortunate given the historical importance of the place. With proper restoration, maintenance, and better visitor access, the City Palace could become one of Alwar's major heritage attractions.
Getting There:
There are two main routes to reach the City Palace. One is via Kachahri and City Palace Road, which is also the route towards Alwar Fort. The other is through Bajaja Bazaar.
If you're travelling by your own car, I would recommend the Bajaja Bazaar route. The road is comparatively easier to navigate, although it does become narrow around the Shiv Temple.
The Kachahri Road route is particularly challenging during the final 150–200 metres. The road becomes extremely narrow, and in places, two cars can barely pass each other. It requires careful driving and good manoeuvring skills, especially if you're driving an unfamiliar vehicle.
