点评:Beautiful, peaceful, almost unspoilt (a bit of a clean up would help keep this place super special). Miles of white sands; blue sea and sky stretching into the distance. Lined by a bank of coconut palms, so there is shade if you need it, the beach stretches all the way down to Paje and Jambiani, and all the way up to Dongwe and Pingwe on the Michamvi peninsula. At Bwejuu it is absolutely stunning.
The lay of the land here is flat, flat, flat, so when the tide comes in it is never deep and the beach is quite safe for swimming in, and when the tide goes out it leaves an expanse of mossy seaweeds and shallow pools, home to sea anemones, sea urchins, hermit crabs, a multitude of seashells and more. You might share your dip in the ocean with a white egret or black heron, or with the multitude of crows that call Zanzibar home... their constant caw an unusual replacement for a seagull's cry. Or maybe you will take a stroll on the shoreline with a herd of cows, heading for their morning walk.
Locals make the most of the beach and its resources. Women collect seaweed for the cosmetics industry and fill buckets with whelks. Men catch octopus and crabs. Children splash in the waters and play football together after school. Masai beachboys ply their wares, strolling elegantly along the shore. The occasional kite surfer practices their skills.
No sounds but the rolling waves (and the crows), nothing to do but chill. Pole Pole as they say here: slowly slowly.
