Horses, history, and a scenic trail ride

点评：We did a two hour trail ride with Susan recently and the whole family enjoyed it very much. We were greeted by Susan’s many dogs upon arrival, many of them rescues that she has taken in over the years. She loves her dogs and her horses and loves telling you about their different personalities. Susan’s horses are really calm and she matches your level of experience to the horse. No need to worry if you don’t have any experience. My ten-year old loved his horse, Merlin. He also loved the fact that many of Susan's dogs come on the trail ride too! The trail we took winds through a eucalyptus plantation and up to the top of a hill where a battle took place during the Anglo Boer war (battle of Helvetia). Susan is a history buff and told us about the battle and the history of the area. It was also interesting to learn about the different horse breeds that were bred in South Africa. More than just a trail ride, this was a lovely introduction to local history and lore. We really enjoyed our experience.
