England as it should be? (SORRY - IT'S A VERY PRETTY CAR PARK)

点评：Architecturally, Lacock Village is what England should be! Lovely little cottages, shops and church. Lovely stonework and timber framed houses. We visited after a trip to Lacock Abbey, which is just over the road. It has been used as a location for TV shows as "Downton Abbey" and the Harry Potter films. 99% of visitors are most likely here because of this, which is part of the problem. Now I admit that we visited here during August week which is probably why the place was crawling with visitors. I struggled to get any photos that didn't have crowds in them. this ruins what should have been a nice walk around a tranquil village.
The other problem, which is rapidly becoming the norm at locations such as this, is the modern day pestilence that is cars parked all around the village. so the thought of being back in an England of happier years is ruined! Instead you are instantly plunged back into the modern day dump that our country is now being forced into. In fact it should be classed as one of the world's prettiest car parks alongside Stow-on-the-Wold and Lavenham.
Worth a visit? Only in passing! Do not make a special trip unless you are an fanatic Harry potter fan or you want to visit at a very upper class car park.
Note to The National trust - surely a piece of land can be set outside of the village for residents to park, thus NOT destroying the ambiance of the village.
