Excellent Rum!

点评：I have come across the Hvitserkur rum back in 2022 and bought myself a bottle for my collection (I collect rum from every place I visit, if one is "produced" of course at my destination haha) and not knowing I will ever get another chance to revisit Iceland it proudly stood there on my bar.
What I didn't realize is not only that in 2024 I will get another chance at the amazing Iceland but also that I will find the distillery behind this rum, and that I will actually get to enjoy it - it's suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch a nice rum, the white in particular is probably one if not the best white rum I had ever. The dark and spiced are nice too, but the white one is just so unique, still being a molasses based rum I find it extremely surprising how flavorful and smooth it is - normally white rum is to be mixed, this is far too good to mix, I actually end up sipping it - kudos to the distillery, extremely impressive and I have been to probably by now about 30 rum distilleries around Caribbean and Pacific regions!
I bought their gift set (didn't see it at the airport) so I could try everything without the worrying about the drive ahead of me in Iceland :) about $58 so it's no an inexpensive treat but for Iceland's prices and overall quality of this place worth every $.
They do tours by appointment only as they are located in a somewhat commercial region outside of Reykjavik (yet within easy 10 minutes drive to the touristy center of it) - they were kind enough to open for a moment just so I could pick up my gift set and be able to see their display - very nice place!
