I can't recommend Lorenzo highly enough - this trip exceeded our expectations in every way.

点评：This was an absolutely fantastic trip - when trying to construct a one-week Jamaican birding and hiking tour, I called Attractions link and in a few minutes realized that it would be best to let him plan the trip - It was a good call!
We spent 4 days in Port Antonio and two in the Blue Mountains. Firstly the accommodation was perfect - at the Bay View Ecolodge our room was like being in a bird hide at the upper level of the forest - I watched birds as it got light from the veranda and through the window as I brushed my teeth!! Food was great - rooms pleasantly rustic and nice and clean, Great hike and birding in San San, Birding in Ecclestown road, nice trip to Winnifred's beach and Reach Falls. The rivier rafting down the Rio Grande was fantastic - beautiful scenery, lots of birds and great lunch from Linda on the riverbank halfway down. By the end of the first day birding had seen 20 endemics! Starlight Chalet in Blue Mountains is a birder's paradise - surprisingly luxurious for an 'eco-resort' - great food - woke up to 4 endemics from our verandah! Woke up just before dawn and walked down the road for about 100 meters and had great views of three crested quail doves on the edge of the road.
Lorenzo is a fantastic, attentive and knowledgeable guide. Full of really interesting contextual information about Jamaica, history, culture, etc. Really expert at finding birds. Ended up having seen 66 different species of birds, including 26 endemics. The whole trip was very well organized and smooth.
The extent of the unspoiled forest blew us away. Once we left the city, everything was so clean and fresh, people incredibly friendly. Don't check the weather forecast before you go! - in spite of it predicting rain every day, we had fantastic weather. Also read warnings about petty crime but felt completely safe the whole time.
After 40 years of birding, I must rate Jamica as one of the best places to go - would be ideal for people at all levels of birding experience. The birds are stunning and the endemics common enough that you are likely (with a good guide) to see most of them, but because it is so lush, you do have to work to find them, so the reward is even sweeter.
