Incredible Mobile Camping Experience in Botswana

点评：We went mobile camping as part of our trip through Shangana Safaris and had the most incredible experience. We spent three nights at Moremi, three at Khwai, and two at Savuti with the same staff. Our guide, Master, was phenomenal, as compared to all the other guides we saw on our three week trip and consider him a friend (as well as the other staff). We asked about animal behavior, local culture, bird sounds, animal identification, the environment, plants, etc. and he knew everything. He could spot animals at an instant and could track prints to find the big predators. We had a large cabin tent, cots with mattresses, rugs inside, hot water morning and night, and a private latrine and shower area attached to the back of the tent. The staff for the two of us consisted of our guide Master, a chef, and two helpers that set up camp and took good care of us. The owners, David and Helene, supplied great food, snacks, and drinks. We would have a morning drive starting in the dark, a coffee/tea/snacks break at a nice location (table, chairs, table cloth) mid-morning, and were back at camp for lunch. The afternoon drive started at 4:00 and then we would set up at a nice animal viewing location to watch the sunset with snacks/drinks. We would arrive back at camp after dark, have dinner, sit around a campfire, and start it all over again the next morning. This type of camping allows you to camp in the parks so you do not waste travel time, hear the animals at night, smell the wild sage and basil permeating the air, experience a night drive at one park, and avoid many of the crowds you see at Chobe. We highly recommend Shangana Safaris!
