Beware of surface car park at Westgate Shopping Centre, Basildon

点评：I received a Parking Charge Notice from Group Nexus. I parked my vehicle at Westgate surface park in Basildon on 21 Mar 25 at 15:36 and departed at 22:33.
I was fined £90, but have lodged an appeal. As this is a pay on exit park I went to the machine and paid the requested £2.00. I have the pdf of my transaction which I have sent to PCN Appeals separate to this note.
It would seem that this charge was incurred because my vehicle was parked for 14 minutes in excess of the stipulated 2 hours maximum between 0600 and 1800?
The machine charged me only £2.00. Had this been a car park where one pays on arrival, I would have gladly paid the appropriate fee.
I could have used the multi story car park but it closes at 2200. I was playing in a show at the theatre and would not be back in time.
