点评:I visited the museum on my first day in Riga, the first of many a rainy one!
Signposting in the area isn't great to direct you so make sure to get your Google maps on the go!
Once you find it, a short walk from the food market (well worth a stop), YL you are welcome by one of the staff who were pro- active coming outside to say hello from their office.
She explained the route for the self- guided tour and that there is no charge, just what donation you wish to pay.
I would say I spent approx 45 minutes there reading up on the various displays and the tragic stories of locals and families uprooted from their homes in neighbouring countries to Riga, only to then be transported to their deaths.
The "wall of names", next to a transport wagon in the courtyard, highlight the horror and tragedy of less than a century ago and how a race was nearly wiped from the planet purely because of their beliefs!
A moving experience and try to make it if you have a short time to fill on you visit to Riga.
