Beautiful Horseback Ride, But Waterfall Not Ideal for Swimming

点评：We loved the horseback riding portion of the Brisas del Nara tour. Riding through the lush rainforest was a highlight—so peaceful and scenic. The horses were well-trained, gentle, and easy to manage, even for kids and beginners. It was a great way to experience the natural beauty of Costa Rica.
The waterfall stop, however, felt unsafe. While it’s visually stunning, the rocks were extremely slippery and the water was aggressive and fast—especially during rainy season. My 8-year-old daughter was very scared. We smiled for the camera, but truthfully, we didn’t feel comfortable swimming. In our opinion, it would be better to enjoy the waterfall from a safe distance, take photos, and maybe swim somewhere calmer and safer. If you’re visiting during the rainy season or with younger kids, ask if there are alternative waterfall spots to visit.
Tips:
• Bring towels or a warm change of clothes. After getting wet, the air-conditioned van feels freezing on the ride back.
• Let the staff know when you’re ready to return to your hotel. We waited about an hour at the end of the tour, not realizing they were waiting for us to say we were ready to leave. Other tours returned us right away—this one doesn’t unless you speak up.
• Check out the bats in the bathroom near the waterfall! A fun little surprise if you’re not too squeamish.
Overall, we really enjoyed the ride and the rainforest experience, but would recommend caution around the waterfall area.
