Wonderful but challenging experience

点评：We were a group of 3 people who hike on a regular basis in the Alps and booked the trip to climb Cotopaxi with two guides - Willy and Jose. Everything was very well organized, before the trip we received a lot of information on what to expect and what to bring along plus all the equipment that could be provided. We were picked up on time in Quito and driven to the entrance of the park where we met with Willy and Jose and tried all the equipment. Willy was extremely patient when we tried the equipment, specially the shoes, and made sure that we had the correct shoes and felt comfortable with what we were taking. Both guides were always very professional, very nice and explained very well what was happening and what to expect. The refuge at Cotopaxi is great, the only minus is that there is no heating so it got very very cold. We started our hike shortly before 1am and it was extremely demanding and cold. Willy who was with me the whole hike was an amazing guide, very knowledgeable and supporting. I felt always very safe and that he knew what he was doing. The rest of the group had similar feedback about Jose. I would 100% recommend both guides for a Cotopaxi tour. It was a wonderfull experience although it was extremely challenging.
