弗里德里克梅雅公园与雕塑公园的点评
点评：Not sure I know enough superlatives to adequately describe what an amazing and wonderful place is the Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park. Reciprocal AHS membership, which is greatly appreciated.
We started out taking the $8 per person credit-card only Tram half-hour ride with clear, interesting audio around the park. Highly recommend for learning about sights and getting a feel for the park.
Then we headed to explore the Japanese Garden and, of course, more sculptures including the magnificent Leonardo da Vinci's Horse brought to gigantic life. Note the two smaller versions in the complex that surely give the visually impaired a sense of the statue’s magnificence.
The Children’s Garden is delightful. The 69,000 square foot Welcome Center is a huge room where the Information Desk is located. Gaze around you to appreciate Utopia —the faces created by Jaume Plensa. Then go down the hall to view a 20-minute movie about the making of these sculptures.
Interior to the building are also tropical gardens and even one dedicated to carnivorous plants. Additionally there are special exhibit displays. Currently there is the contemporary faces in all different mediums.
Plan many hours here to appreciate the special sculptures in their garden setting.
