弗里德里克梅雅公园与雕塑公园的点评
点评：We were in town for the weekend for a wedding. That morning at breakfast, a waitress recommended that we check out the sculpture garden. To be honest, it didn't sound sound like much to me, but my partner wanted to go so off we headed!
Just driving in to the parking lot you pass some amazing pieces. I began to realize that we were headed to something special. Once inside the visitor center everywhere you look there's really unique art and sculptures on the inside! The person at the sales desk was super helpful explaining how to visit the garden. There is a tram that you can take that drives you on a loop through the garden to give you an overall view (you pay a small fee for the tram.) You can then go back to certain areas if you want to explore further. That sounded like a great idea to us, so we headed out towards the tram stop. But to get there, you pass by amazing indoor nature exhibits. They have plants grouped together such as arid plants, Victorian plants, tropical plants, etc. We spent our first hour just going through the indoor exhibit and we saw so many fabulous plants! When we finally got outside, it was only a short walk to the tram.
The tram is a great experience - as it drives you around it slows down for pictures at certain pieces, and the driver gives you a lot of background information as to what you were seeing, the artist, who commissioned it, etc. Even more fun is that the botanical plants around each piece are specifically planted to enhance the sculpture itself. I love that they put creeping thyme around the sculpture of a spider!
We spent several hours on foot exploring the Japanese gardens, and had we had more time would've spent more hours exploring the rest of the gardens. We already know that we want to make a trip back to Grand Rapids to spend more time here. I would rank this as a must see when in the area. I'm so jealous that I don't live nearer!

乘坐电车是一次很棒的体验——电车会带着你四处游览，并在一些特定的展品前减速供游客拍照，司机还会为你讲解展品的背景信息，比如艺术家、委托人等等。更有趣的是，每件展品周围的植物都是精心挑选的，旨在衬托雕塑本身。我特别喜欢他们在蜘蛛雕塑周围种植的匍匐百里香！
我们花了几个小时步行游览日式花园，如果时间更充裕，我们一定会花更多时间探索花园的其他部分。我们已经决定要再去一次大急流城，好好游览这里。我强烈推荐这里，绝对是到附近地区必去的景点。真羡慕他们，可惜我住得比较远！
