点评：If you want to see an 'Outstanding' Exhibition of Art from the Artists of Essex, then go to the Beecroft Art Gallery (Southend-on-Sea) and see the 60th Essex Open Art Exhibition which was selected by the Artist John Wonnacott OBE. 177 works selected from over 500 entries.
It is the largest Open Art Exhibition and the largest Gallery in Essex situated in a superb mid 1970s Architect (R Horswell) designed building with inner walls clad in ceramic tiles in an abstract design by Fritz Stellar.
The Art on show encompasses Magic Realism, 3D Abstracts, Textile Art, Sculptures, Drawings, Photographs, Ceramics and Oil Paintings alongside Watercolour paintings.
The paintings and artwork show a wide range of subject matter including Portraits, Seascapes, Building-scapes, Landscapes and Abstract paintings.
Also a call out to the staff who hang the work on the display boards and arrange the work in the 3D areas. The display of the work is always top notch.
The Gallery is a one minute walk from Southend Victoria Station.
Free entry to the Gallery on the days when the Gallery is open, which are Wednesdays to Sundays, 11am to 5pm.
The Exhibition is on display from the 16th of November 2024 to the 9th of February 2025.
