The best Northern Lights tour ever!
特罗姆瑟户外之旅的点评
点评：This is our 5th tour with Tromso Friluftsenter and have had the best time ever, each time we have gone!
Reading some of these negative reviews, you would think that the tour guides were in charge of mother nature! Some people never fail to amaze me!
Anyway, back to the tours!
Trine is one of the nicest, caring, funniest ladies you could wish to meet.
We used them in 2016 and again in Feb 2025. None of our 5 tours left us disappointed.
On Wednesday 5th Feb 2025, the skies over Tromso were cloudy. It was raining too.
The tour still went ahead, and Trine drove inland in her comfortable, warm minibus in search for clear skies.
We stopped in a safe place on the side of the road and caught a glimmer.
After around 30 minutes, we moved on to an open snow covered field, where we had a slightly better show through broken cloud.
We were given hot drinks and delicious chocolate cake.
Not happy with the what mother nature was offering, she asked us all if we would like to go down in to Finland where she had been informed there were clear skies, to which we all agreed even though it was well past midnight.
Low and behold, about 10 minutes in to Finland, the skies cleared and we saw a lovely show of the lights.
Trine certainly didn't give up, and she made all of her guests happy as they got that magical photo they all came for. We got home around 3.30am but it was the groups choice!
On Saturday the 8th, it was different as there were clear skies over Tromso, so she drove us to base camp.
Within 15 minutes of being there, the Aurora showed her face magnificently. It lasted for around 2 hours then faded away.
We went back to the lavoo, with a lovely fire and had hot chocolate, cake and toasted marshmallows.
She kept an eye on the skies and on her specialised information she gets on her phone, but it didn't look like they were going to show again. (Which they didn't)
We had the option to stay and wait or go home, but we all decided to wait.
We had a wonderful evening, sitting around the camp fire exchanging stories and learning about the history of Northern Norway.
I would thoroughly recommend this company, because unlike other tour companies, you have somewhere nice and warm to sit rather than having to be out in the cold all the time whilst waiting for the Aurora to show.
Unlike some have said in negative reviews, you don't chase Northern Lights, you chase the clear skies. If you have clear skies, it is then up to nature whether the lights show or not!
Do your research on the Northern Lights before you come, then you won't be disappointed!!
