One of the many historic sites in the Journey Through Hallowed Ground NHA
Washington County Museum of Fine Arts的点评
点评:We were first time visitors to this fine arts museum without having to drive too far away from home. Traffic was light and we had no problems getting here from neighboring Frederick County, MD. It's always a good idea to visit the local area sites and attractions. Many people travel thousands of miles away and spend thousands of dollars, yet neglect the treasures in their own backyard.
Parking was FREE with plenty of open spots on a Saturday afternoon in March. Admission was, and still is, FREE. Museum hours are Tue-Sun: 10a-5p. It's closed on Mondays and 10 days they recognize as holidays.
This museum is one of the many historic sites in the Journey Through Hallowed Ground National Heritage Area (NHA). It focuses on American art and provides the community with the chance to view high quality pieces by some of America's most famous artists such as Norman Rockwell, Thomas Moran, Frederic Church, and Thomas Cole to name a few. Additionally, they also showcase plenty of European, African, and Asian works. While we were there we also had the opportunity to see the platinum photographic prints of groundbreaking women of the early 20th century in E. O. Hoppe's Women exhibit.
