A VERY SPECIAL DESERT JOURNEY

点评：After making early enquiries with the Top Desert main office, we received excellent, friendly and personal help from Safae, who put together our itinerary and continually monitored the development of the programme including during the visit itself. This was very reassuring. Our package consisted of a two day drive from Marrakech through the Atlas Mountains and into the Western Sahara, two nights and a full day in a desert camp and the local desert area and then a long single, day drive back to Marrakech via a different route. Our driver/guide was Hafid, who from pick up to final return was, without fail, polite, helpful, friendly and an extremely competent driver in the city, on the main roads and across country. His helpful advice and guidance enabled us to have a variety of interesting short visits to different places of interest during the journeys. It was very clear from his driving style and skill that we were in safe and competent hands – we saw numerous examples of reckless driving by other tour company drivers whilst we were expertly driven throughout the trip. It did seem the same was the case with the other Top Desert drivers, we met who showed the same good sense and restraint. The chosen hotel in Agdz was a real haven and oasis – simple, clean, comfortable and quiet with charming and competent hosts. The selection of road side stops was good. Of particular note were the stunning view points, the kasbahs visits and the explanation of the agriculture associated with growing of palms in the Draa Valley.
The team at the desert camp were also very competent and worked well with the drivers to really care for their guests. The desert activity was a great experience with a day long return camel trek and picnic lunch in the field. The whole Top Desert team clearly work closely together to create an enjoyable and memorable experience. We strongly recommend Top Desert for their professionalism, approachability and attention to detail.
