点评：The Georgia Guidestones was a granite monument that stood in Elbert County, Georgia, just north of the small, quaint town of Elberton, from 1980 to 2022, until it permanently closed. It was 19 feet 3 inches (5.87 m) tall and made from six granite slabs weighing a total of just over 237,000pounds. The structure was sometimes referred to as an "American Stonehenge". The monument's creators believed that there was going to be an upcoming disaster and wanted the monument to be a guide for humanity in the future. Controversial from its inception , it became the subject of several conspiracy theories that alleged it was connected to Satanism. On the morning of July 6, 2022, the guidestones were significantly damaged in a terroristic bombing, and were dismantled later that day. In late July 2022, Elberton Mayor, Daniel Graves revealed plans to rebuild the monument in Dallas, Ga at the current location of the Farm at Little Fox Hollow at a cost of half a million dollars. But then on August 8, 2022, the Elbert County Board of Commissioners voted to instead, donate the remains of the monument to the Elberton Granite Association, placed in the Granite Museum, and return the 5 acres of land on which the monument was erected to its previous owner.
