We highly recommend booking a horseback ride with Hassan (and Bobine). This was the best experience we had in Morocco. My girlfriend and I booked a 1.5-hour ride in Ait Ben Haddou, during which we crossed the riverbed, rode on the hills surrounding the old town, and even passed through the historic city and its charming shops. It felt like stepping back in time to an era when horses were the primary means of transport.
As beginners, we even managed to trot and gallop twice during the ride, thanks to Hassan and Bobine’s helpful tips, which made us feel like better riders even in such a short time. Throughout the 1.5 hours, we felt safe and in capable hands.
Hassan is a passionate guide who shared the fascinating history of Ait Ben Haddou with us during the ride and pointed out locations where many famous movies were filmed. The trip concluded with a cup of tea at his home, where he showed us photos from some of the productions he was involved in.
In short, we 100% recommend this experience—it’s a must-do when visiting Ait Ben Haddou!
