Some things don't change for the better

点评：We used to visit Grasmere frequently for years and always parked at the garden centre, to be fair it was our favourite garden centre and cafe. We always bought items for the house and plants for the garden, whilst we were there.
The car park used to be free for customers, but not any more. We paid four pounds to park here for two hours, with no concessions for customers of the cafe and shop. I often wonder how much business and customer footfall Grasmere has lost as a result of the parking charges? I know we now prefer to go into Ambleside instead.
We always travel with our Cocker Spaniel dog, let's face it, I don't know anywhere more dog friendly than the Lake District - so many people travel there with their dogs. This place used to be so dog friendly, now dogs are not allowed in the building (shop or cafe) at all. It's almost as if the new owners are trying their best to deter customers going there... and the ones that do, they are trying hard to rinse them of their money.
We are in the process of buying a house in the Lakes, not far from Grasmere but I won't be calling at the Garden centre again - Never again.
Our advice - take your custom to Hayes Garden Centre at Ambleside (Free parking and Dog Friendly).
