Overall, we'd recommend the area to friends
Land Between The Lakes National Recreation Area的点评
点评：We spent several relaxing days here taking in some of what the area has to offer. Here's our experience:
Bison and Elk Drive
We went in the afternoon between 2:45 and 3:00. The best times to visit are dawn and dusk. We knew that going in, but thought we’d try our luck. We saw lots of scat, a flock of turkeys and a bale of turtles. So… no luck with the bison and elk. I’d say stick to dawn and dusk. The entrance fee is $5 per car right now. Inside the park is a loop. I believe you’d be able to go around as often as you’d like until you got to see something, as long as you have the gas for it.
Hematite Lake Trail
We missed the water lilies, but they were probably so amazing when they were blooming. The leaves that were starting to die off were just ginormous. The path through the woods is very pretty. We walked just a short portion as it was after a long day of exploring. There are picnic tables that you can use just at the entrance to the trail lane. Before you turn in, there is the remains of an iron furnace.
We also visited and reviewed our experiences at Golden Pond Visitor Center and Planetarium, the 1850's working farm, the Woodlands Nature center, Moss Creek Day Use Area, Energy Lake kayak rental, and our campsite at Hillman Ferry Campground. They are listed as separate reviews.
