Although no re-enactment this year it’s still the most pristine Civil War battlefield in the country.

点评：This was the weekend that commemorated the actual battle of Perryville. Although the rules have changed for re-enactors in recent years that they now only have demonstrations and walking tours it’s still the most pristine battlefield in the country. Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I will admit this was one of the smallest events they have had. In fact there weren’t any food trucks and this was only a one-day event as opposed to the usual 2-day event weekend. On the plus side they have speakers/authors had offer some interesting lectures. Also this event and the small museum were free. Generally there is an admission fee when they have this special event. I guess since they didn’t actually have a re-enactment this time around the fee was waived. One more thing is our battlefield tour guide’s family was present during the actual battle. To get a perspective from someone whose family experienced the turmoil of the war was a bonus. You can’t beat that.
