点评：The Necropolis is the first thing you'll see as you enter the archeological site in Ostia Antica. It was common practice in these ancient villages to bury the dead outside of the city limits.
Don't just stay on the main road. Do walk into the areas with the columbarium niches and enclosed mausoleums. You'll see even more detail as you explore it. I think we spent too much time here. Everything looked so interesting. It's easy to lose time when looking at the ruins. Just remember that you will come back the same way. There's so much to see.
I was amazed at how well everything was preserved. I love that the informational signs are so detailed. It also helps to have your own map. Make sure you visit the museum on site. There are many artifacts that were unearthed at the Necropolis.
We visited early in the morning when it was cooler. It's great to hear the birds chirping all around you as well. There were no mosquitoes in the month of May for anyone who is concerned about that. It was a lovely day!
