Very Enjoyable Tour with Spectacular Views

点评：Having heard Aruba had a winery after our 2024 visit, we made it a point to book a tour. The tour started on time and led us through a path, which was surrounded by natural landscaping of cactus, thorny bushes and glimpses of spectacular views. The path was typical for this side of the island, hard and rocks protruding every now and then. This led around and opened up to see nice views of the ocean and into the cultivated part of the winery. The views got better and better. All the while our tour guide provided history, facts, and fun. After walking through the grape vines, we were introduced to sugar cane and provided a piece to literally chew on. Then into the distillery building where their Red Star Aruba rum is made. We were given a sample of a run drink, which was very sweet to me. I had wished to simply taste just rum, not in a drink - but it was a nice touch to get a run drink. We then headed into the tasting area, where Sommelier Hubert was waiting for us with a flight of four wines. One white, one rose, one red, and on port'ish. We were also provided a charcuterie board, with various cheeses, chocolate, fig, nuts, chorizo, and salami. Hubert led us through the varieties and paired us accordingly with the various charcuterie items. You then have a chance to buy any of the products, along with some clothing items, etc. They have a small menu of empanadas or dessert, while you sit on the deck and take in the beautiful views. You get to see the Alto Vista Chapel and in the distance the California Lighthouse. We thoroughly enjoyed our time. Tour took about 1.5hrs and then we hung for another hour.
