点评:As a rider who had never been on a horse before I felt there was not enough communication about what to expect beforehand. Once on the horse outside the stable I was handed the rein and told to move it left or right and pull back to stop, but thats where the communication stopped.
Our guide did what they could given the language barrier and knew the horses well. The local guide assisted on their own stallion who was extremely well behaved and handsome. The guide took beautiful pictures and videos on our phones for us, which we gave a tip for.
But at no point was I warned we would be galloping full speed towards the beach. As the horse picked up speed I found it difficult to hold on to the saddle and got worried about my safety. The guide was shouting phrases throughout the ride but I wasn't sure if it was instructions for the horse or for me as the rider, either way I didnt understand what to do, apart from hold on for dear life. Looking back, flailing feet probably only encouraged them to pick up speed.
I could tell the horse was frustrated as well during the ride, bowing its head, sighing and digging at the ground. At various points the horses ankle gave way (due to fatigue or injury) and again I got worried for my safety and that of the horse.
When swimming with the horses in the sea it was very difficult to remain on the horse as no saddle of course. So you really do need good fitness (and abs).
After we swam with the horses in the sea, the horse I was riding decided to run in its own direction and wouldn't stop despite pulling back on the rein. Again this panicked me, as I felt helpless to control the direction or speed, and asked for the guide to take the rein instead. Which put me at ease until we arrived back at the stables.
Dont get me wrong, what an experience is was to swim with the beautiful horses in the gorgeous sea and to experience the majesty of their speed through the desert, but unfortunately due to no prior experience this is better suited to those who have had horse riding experience.
Overall I would recommend this experience to the right individuals. If you're a novice like me best to stick to the quad biking. One off the bucket list for sure.
